I've been reading message boards and other blogs about animal rights and I must say that I'm not amused. There are actually people out there that believe that either:
A. Animals have NO rights other than to be used by us as we see fit and that the only purpose of farm animals is to be put on our plate.
B. Animals have more rights than we do.
Okay, maybe I'm a bit amused. I have to say that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but really people. No one should be this polarized. There has to be some middle ground. Anyone agree? I read one Christian page, where she quoted the Bible throughout making the point that animals are put here for us. I agree that God did put the animals here for humankind and that we are above them. I do not believe that He desired for any of His beautiful creations to be exploited or tortured. If we need animals to improve human life, we need to be prepared to utilize them, but can we do that humanely? I think so. If there is an alternative to using a living creature, should we use that alternative? I believe the answer is a resounding "yes". I am Christian. I believe I am "Saved"....I believe in Jesus dying on the cross for our sins and that through Him we have eternal life if we repent and pray through His glorious name. The woman's website was a very good Christian website, but her animal thoughts were a bit barbaric.
